  Our transfer process
All video tape transfers are done in house by our skilled video technicians. All analog video media is transferred using professional video equipment connected to our Canopous ADVC 300 analog to digital converters, which is firewired to our dedicated capture PCs that will create a digital file that is ready for post production.
We do not capture your video tapes into DVD recorders; everything goes through the computer first, followed by post productin and then burned to DVD, Blu-Ray, or MP4/AVI/MOV.

Video Capture
  Organization
You are charged on a per tape basis, with each DVD we create holding a maximum of two hours of video footage. Combinging tapes is possible at no additional fee, two hour maximum per DVD. If you have shorter length tapes that you would like combined then please number your media or put them in the order you would like. All original materials are given back at the completion of project.
  Output options
We offer two options for video output, playable DVD or editable computer file(s) with your choice of AVI, MOV or MP4. Customers must supply an external drive if you opt for computer file output. If you do not have a drive, you can purchase one from Digital Roots Studio. MOV and AVI files are approximately 14gb per hour, and MP4 are approximately 1.5 gb per hour of footage, If you only want to view your video on your television or computer DVD player then you do not need editable footage. All playable DVD's come with chapter points approximately five minutes apart. If you choose editable files you have a choice between AVI file or MOV QuickTime file. For PC we recommend AVI or MP4 & for editing on a Apple computer we recommend QuickTime or MP4 output.
